President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s Official Visit to Malaysia
November 9-10, 2016

 

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte continues his journey to another member country of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) by embarking on an Official Visit to Malaysia from November 9-10, 2016.

To further strengthen the existing bilateral relations between the Philippines and Malaysia, the President is set to talk with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak.

The Chief Executive has laid down some of the agenda of his visit to Malaysia. It will include a discussion on transnational crimes most especially in areas surrounding the Sulu Sea, the Philippines-Malaysia frontier controls, and joint military and police operations.

President Duterte is also expected to meet with the Filipino community in Malaysia on the first day of his visit.

Before proceeding to Malaysia, the President will head to Thailand first and pay his respects to the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who passed away on October 13, 2016. Thailand is observing a yearlong official mourning period.
