President Rodrigo Roa Duterte reminded the newly appointed government officials that transparency, accountability and efficiency are the pillars that would guide them in their quest for good governance across all levels.
In an oath-taking ceremony held at the Rizal Hall in Malacañan Palace, the Chief Executive expressed his gratitude to the government officials as they assumed their respective posts, and called upon them to perform their duties with the highest degree of moral integrity as public servants.
“Thank you for taking on the opportunity to serve the Filipino people through your respective offices and with a sincere commitment to effect positive change within the bureaucracy,” said President Duterte.
The President gave his assurance that he shall be with them to build a conscientious and responsive government, eliminating the ills that weaken social institutions.
“I count on your unwavering efforts to implement effective programs and initiatives to pursue lasting reforms in every department, agency, bureau and other administrative entities,” said President Duterte as he congratulated them once again midway through his remarks.
The Chief Executive trusts that they shall pursue the common good for the people over their own personal interests, and expects them to deliver reliable public service within their respective offices.
“Today, we renew our pledge to uphold a clean administration that puts a high regard on the welfare of our people. The advancement of their lives remains the most important indicator of our overall progress as a nation,” President Duterte stressed.
After the ceremony, the President took time to address some of the country’s most pressing issues before the media, such as the water crisis in Metro Manila and the possible banning of firecrackers in the country, among others.
