President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. administered the oath of office to Dr. Teodoro Herbosa as the newly appointed Department of Health (DOH) Secretary in a ceremony held at the President’s Hall, Ante Room in Malacañan Palace.

The Secretary’s wife, Dr. Grace Anne Herbosa, and their daughter joined him during the oath-taking.

Prior to his appointment, Secretary Herbosa served as DOH Undersecretary from 2010 to 2015 where he contributed to various initiatives such as the Hospital Accreditation Commission, Modernization of the Philippine Orthopedic Center, and promoting Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) in the health sector.

Moreover, he has served as Executive Vice President of the University of the Philippines System from 2017 to 2021.

During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, he served as Special Adviser to the National Task Force Against COVID-19, providing expert guidance and contributing to the formulation of strategies aimed at mitigating the impact of the virus.
