President Rodrigo Roa Duterte administered the oath-taking of the newly-designated Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rolando Joselito Bautista in a ceremony held in Malacañan Palace.

President Duterte noted that the new DSWD Secretary is a man of honesty and competence, saying that he trusts that he would continue the programs of the government to provide a more comfortable life for all. He also reminded Secretary Bautista to remain loyal to the flag and renounce all forms of corruption while in office.

Prior to his designation, Secretary Bautista retired as a Lieutenant General and was the previous Commanding General of the Philippine Army (CGPGA).
