President Rodrigo Roa Duterte officiated the oath-taking of Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Teodoro Locsin, Jr. in a simple ceremony in Malacañan Palace.

The Chief Executive reminded Secretary Locsin to remain competent and honest as he took over the helm of the DFA and shall pursue the country’s independent foreign policy.

Prior to his new designation, Secretary Locsin served as the Philippine Permanent Representative to the United Nations headquartered in New York City, United States of America.

Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, DFA Undersecretary Ernesto Abella, DFA Officer-in-Charge for Administration and Chief Coordinator Atty. Theresa Dizon-de Vega, and Mrs. Lourdes Locsin attended the oath-taking ceremony.
