President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. challenged the newly promoted star rank officers of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to become agents of positive change for the country during an oath-taking ceremony at the Heroes Hall in Malacañan Palace.

“I urge the PNP to be free from any form of corruption and abuse, so it could earn and maintain the trust, the confidence, and the admiration [of] our people,” he said, reiterating the Administration’s zero tolerance policy towards corruption and human rights abuses within the PNP.

“Mark my words: there will be no room for leniency for those who engage in acts that tarnish the reputation of our police and jeopardize the safety of our people,” he warned.

The Chief Executive assured them of the Administration’s support for the PNP’s plans and programs, especially in enhancing its capability. He also recognized the invaluable support of the families of the newly promoted officers present at the ceremony.

“Aasahan ko ang pakikiisa ninyo sa ating mithiin na makilala ng sambayanan ang bagong mukha ng ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ sa inyong mga katauhan — marangal, mabilis umaksyon sa tawag ng pangangailangan, at laging handang maging katuwang ng lipunan tungo sa Bagong Pilipinas na ating inaasam,” the President concluded in his message.

The ceremony gathered 57 newly promoted star rank officers of the PNP comprising of four (4) Police Lieutenant Generals, 10 Police Major Generals and 43 Police Brigadier Generals.
