President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. welcomed and congratulated the members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) and other officials as he administered their oath of office at the Heroes Hall in Malacañan Palace.
“It is an important day for us to be here and to swear in to office the members of the Transition Authority that has, in front of it, a great deal of work to do. As we, in our discussions, what is important was that we were able to say that we have done our absolute best in making sure that the representation that we find in the Transition Authority could be as fair as possible,” President Marcos Jr. said in his speech.
The Chief Executive highlighted the need for the BTA to pass several legislations such as the Electoral Code, Local Government Code and some areas of fiscal policies prior to its 2025 elections that will pave the way to achieving peace, progress and genuine autonomy in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
