President Benigno S. Aquino III sworn into office former Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson as Presidential Assistant for Rehabilitation and Recovery, with a Cabinet rank, for typhoon-affected areas devastated by super typhoon Yolanda in the Visayas region.
The former senator is expected to leave for Tacloban this Friday, December 13, to initiate rehabilitation and recovery plans by the government.
In a separate event, President Aquino said that it will take at least P130 billion to completely rehabilitate all areas that suffered Yolanda’s onslaught.
Soon after the oath-taking ceremony, President Aquino joined his Cabinet members for a meeting in a separate room.
