One of Southeast Asia’s largest mosques, it combines a unique modern design with a contemporary expression of traditional Islamic art, calligraphy and ornamentation. The main dome is designed in the shape of an 18-point star representing the thirteen (13) Malaysian states and the five (5) central Pillars of Islam. It appears like a partly opened umbrella roof to symbolize the aspirations of an independent nation.
