“Nagagalak ako na ipinagdiriwang ninyo ang Pasko at sasalubungin ang Bagong Taon sa inyong mga bagong tahanan,” President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. expressed as 30,000 Filipino families within the Philippines received their new house and lot units from the National Housing Authority (NHA).
The President welcomed the families in their newly constructed houses in Naic, Cavite — each unit consisting of one bedroom, kitchen, dining area, toilet, laundry area and living room — as he took a tour at the project site. Other housing units are located in Malabon City, Quezon City, Pangasinan, Isabela, Bulacan, Albay, Iloilo, Cebu, Tacloban City, Zamboanga City, Bukidnon, Davao City and South Cotabato.
The Chief Executive reminded his fellow public servants in the NHA to continue their efforts and cooperation with local government units (LGUs), national government agencies (NGAs), the legislature and the private sector to improve the lives of Filipinos.
Simultaneously conducted all over the Philippine archipelago, the Chief Executive awarded the Certificates of Eligibility of Lot Allocation (CELA) and Transfer of Certificate Titles (TCT) to the beneficiaries at the NHA Project Site in Naic, Cavite.
“Ang tagumpay ng ating pagtitipon ngayon ay patunay lamang ng matinding kagustuhan ng administrasyong ito na agarang matugunan ang mga pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan,” President Marcos Jr. highlighted in his address.
Aside from low-income families, beneficiaries also included Kapatiran members — former rebels who returned to the folds of the law — as part of the program by the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) and the NHA for them to start their life anew and build a better future for their own families.
NHA General Manager Joeben Tai is committed to Building Better and More (BBM) Housing Program that seeks to provide 1.3 million houses within the six-year term of President Marcos Jr. in order to cater to the needs of Filipino families for affordable, resilient and quality homes.
Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar, PAPRU Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., and other national and local government officials were in attendance to support this program.
The NHA functions as a production and financing arm in housing and shall exercise all other functions based on its existing laws. (nha.gov.ph)
