President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore witnessed the signing and exchange of several memoranda of understanding (MOUs) between the Republic of the Philippines and the Republic of Singapore in a ceremony held at the Istana.
Two (2) MOUs were signed, namely the MOU in the Field of Digital Cooperation between the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) led by DICT Secretary Ivan John Uy, and the Ministry of Communications and Information led by Minister Josephine Teo; and, the Joint Communique on the Recruitment of Filipino Healthcare Workers between the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) led by Secretary Susan Ople and the Ministry of Health led by Minister Ong Ye Kung.
Both leaders also witnessed the exchange of four (4) MOUs: MOU on Cooperation in Personal Data Protection between the National Privacy Commission (NPC) and the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC); MOU between the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and Enterprise Singapore to Collaborate on Business Opportunities in the Development of New Clark City; MOU on Water Collaboration between the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) and Public Utilities Board (PUB); and lastly, MOU between the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) concerning the assignment of a team from the regional Counter-Terrorism Information Facility in Singapore.
