Malacañan Palace Grounds

Newly sworn in President Rodrigo Roa Duterte received his first Full Military Honors in the Malacañan Palace Grounds as the 16th President of the Philippines.

After the honors, President Duterte proceeded to the main lobby of the Palace and ascended the main staircase for the first time. This act symbolizes the inception of his presidency.

The Chief Executive then went to the President’s Hall Sala to receive the members of the diplomatic corps with Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Perfecto Yasay.
