President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. talked about the future plans in strengthening the country’s digital infrastructure with key officials of the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) at the State Dining Room in Malacañan Palace.

During the meeting, the Chief Executive reviewed the Digital Infrastructure Work Plan presented by the PSAC members and discussed it with officials from the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), Department of Transportation (DOTr), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA).

The President also asked for updates on the ongoing registration of subscriber identity module (SIM) cards as mandated under Republic Act No. 11934 or the SIM Card Registration Act.

Presently headed by Aboitiz Group President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sabin Aboitiz, the PSAC was established under the Administration of President Marcos Jr. to bolster cooperation and collaboration between the public and private sectors towards nation building.

One of the Chief Executive’s priorities is to attain universal connectivity within the Philippine archipelago.
