President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. met with the officials of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Investment and Economic Affairs (OPAIEA) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) at the State Dining Room in Malacañan Palace.
Acting as the Presidential Delivery Unit, the OPAIEA is mandated to drive the timely delivery of investment projects, trade agreements and pledges, including those originating from international visits. It will also pursue the priority investment and economic agenda of the Administration and follow through on select recommendations by the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC), as approved by the President.
Secretary Frederick Go presented the OPAIEA’s ongoing projects prior to the Chief Executive’s Official Visit to Japan, which covered the industries of agriculture, renewable power, aviation maintenance, automotive manufacturing, solar power and maritime defense.
Meanwhile, DTI Secretary Alfredo Pascual highlighted the updates on investment prospects in the President’s overseas visits that included the sectors of data center, Information Technology and Business Process Management (IT-BPM), manufacturing, electric vehicle/energy efficiency and renewable energy. He also reported the summary of business engagements during these foreign trips indicating the total number of engagements and estimated jobs to be generated, as well as other issues and concerns.
