Alaminos City, Pangasinan
15 March 2013
President Benigno S. Aquino III visited Alaminos City to meet with local leaders and the community in the province of Pangasinan.
He thanked the Pangasinenses gathered in the auditorium for their warm welcome despite the grueling heat and humidity brought by the fast-approaching summer season.
In his message, he cited several government programs and initiatives being implemented in the region such as the electrification projects in 130 sitios and the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) where 112,400 families in the locality are enrolled. He warned them not to be fooled by a local candidate threatening to revoke their benefits under the 4Ps program and Philhealth if not elected in the coming May polls.
President Aquino also mentioned several ongoing projects in the province such as the Macidem Small Reservoir Irrigation Projects, the Regional Mariculture Technology Develpment Center, the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway, and the rehabilitation of Pangasinan-Zambales Road.
The President is confident that with improved roads, it will attract more tourists to visit its primed summer destinations — the Hundred Islands and its forthcoming Ga’lila Hundred Islands Festival to be celebrated next week.
