President Benigno S. Aquino III was warmly received by the Filipino community in Tokyo during the first day of his State Visit to Japan.

In his statement, the President thanked his kababayans because they are the ones that planted and watered the seed of progress that resulted to a more prosperous Philippines which is now recognized worldwide.

Likewise, he cited his administration’s “daang matawid” reforms implemented for the past five years that greatly reduced graft and corruption in the country.

During the event, the President was presented with a book on “Disaster Preparedness Handbook for the Filipino Community: Paghahanda sa Kalamidad: Gabay Para sa Mga Lider ng Komunidad.”
