President Benigno S. Aquino III joined the local officials and residents of Tarlac City to gather support for the Liberal Party (LP) in an effort to continue his administration’s “Daang Matuwid” at Maria Cristina Park in Tarlac City, Tarlac.

The President outlined key efforts made in the province by his administration such as the six-fold increase of the province’s budget for infrastructure to PhP 13.61 billion resulting in projects such as the Tagumbao Bridge — a PhP 249 million structure built in 2014 with savings of PhP 108 million, the ongoing building of the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway, and the Sapang Burgos Bridge, among others.

President Aquino also spoke about the ongoing Clark Green City project in Capas, Tarlac that is one of the biggest government projects in the country made in partnership with the private sector. The 9,470 hectare prospected metropolis is estimated to cost PhP 607 billion to build and is expected to be the home of at least one million families plus 800,000 workers.

The President continued by discussing the administration’s Training for Work Scholarship Program where 16,351 technical vocational students from Tarlac successfully graduated. This is only a small part of the nine million TESDA graduates who experienced a 72% employment rate under the administration.

Among those present during the event were the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries, with the President citing that from almost 800,000 in the past, the number of beneficiaries increased to 4.6 million during his administration.
