Speaking during a meeting with local leaders and the community in Lucena City, President Benigno S. Aquino III proudly declared that the country will be rice self-sufficient and possibly, even a net exporter by the end of the year.

He also announced several developments and achievements in education, rural electrification, domestic tourism, infrastructure and the government’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), which were realized in less than three years of his administration.

“Dito nga po sa Quezon, nariyan ang pagpapagawa natin sa susunod na taon ng unang bahagi ng limampu’t walong kilometrong South Luzon Expressway extension mula Batangas hanggang Lucena. Isama na rin ang Quezon Eco-tourism Road na babaybay sa Sariaya hanggang Lucena, pati na ang pagpapaunlad natin ng mga daungan sa Lucena, San Andres, Mauban, Cotta at Gumaca,” he said.

The President also recognized the first investment grade status given by the Fitch Group, a major international credit ratings agency.
