President Benigno S. Aquino III joined the local officials and residents of Rizal province to gather support for the Liberal Party (LP) candidates in an effort to continue his administration’s “Daang Matuwid” at Rizal Sumulong Park in Antipolo City, Rizal.
The President outlined key efforts made in the province by his administration such as the 14-fold increase of investments in Rizal, from PhP 7.02 billion in 2005-2010 to PhP 94.78 billion in 2011-2015, as approved by the country’s Board of Investments (BOI).
President Aquino also spoke about the budget increase for the province’s infrastructure from PhP 2.77 billion in 2005-2010 to PhP 13.93 billion in 2011-2016, resulting in numerous projects such as the flood control structures built in Nangka River, Barangay Sto. Niño and Banaba in San Mateo, portions of the Marikina-Infanta Road at Antipolo-Teresa Road in Antipolo City, and other parts in Manila East Road and Highway in Taytay, Rizal.
The President continued by underlining the education programs in Rizal province such as the projected total of 3,811 classrooms to be completed this year, and told the success story of a Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) graduate in the province.
His administration’s Health Facilities Enhancement Program also allocated PhP 179.36 million for the improvement of barangay health stations, rural health units/urban health centers and hospitals in Rizal, plus the PhP 44.68 million allocated for the improvement of the dialysis center in the Rizal Provincial Hospital System in Morong.
Among those present during the event were the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino (4Ps) beneficiaries, with the President citing that from zero beneficiaries in the past, Rizal province now has 41,035 household beneficiaries.
