In a meeting with the local leaders and residents of San Jose in the province of Nueva Ecija, President Benigno S. Aquino III mentioned various agricultural programs of the government for the province being the “Rice Bowl of the Philippines.”
According to the President, there are 112 completed farm-to-market roads that were constructed since 2011 to 2015. Aside from this, the use of modern technology in farming and the production and post-harvest mechanization have been promoted which resulted to a higher rice production in the province.
Aside from agriculture, the government allotted P16.17 billion for the development of the infrastructure in Nueva Ecija. One such project is the Central Luzon Link Expressway Phase 1 that is expected to lessen travel time from Tarlac to Cabanatuan and will benefit 11,200 motorists once completed.
“Ang atin pong panata sa Daang Matuwid: sa pag-unlad, walang maiiwan. Sa pag-ikot sa bansa, tinutukoy natin ang inyong pangangailangan at agaran itong tinutugunan,” President Aquino said.
