President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. discussed partnership in the area of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) with the officials of Kacific Broadband Satellites in a meeting at the State Dining Room in Malacañan Palace.

The meeting centered on the company’s upcoming launching of a satellite project in the Philippines that has the potential of providing affordable and reliable internet service to the Filipino people.

President Marcos Jr. ordered the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to oversee all possible cooperation in the ICT sector to ensure digital connectivity is spread throughout the country, noting the utilization of all digital transports such as fiber optics and satellite technology.

DICT Secretary Ivan John Uy, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Alfredo Pascual, and Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Secretary Renato Solidum Jr. joined the Chief Executive during the meeting.

Founded in 2013, the Kacific is a next-generation broadband satellite operator currently involved in telecommunications-related services. It is operating in 25 countries in the Pacific and Southeast Asian Region, including the Philippines.
