Presidential Assistant on Foreign Affairs (PAFA) and Special Envoy to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Robert E.A. Borje expresses his appreciation to Saudi Arabia for its continued support to the Filipino community in its jurisdiction during a meeting with His Excellency Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Al Awwad, Human Rights Commission (HRC) in the City of Riyadh, on 22 June 2021.

As Special Envoy to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, PAFA Borje conveys President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s positive reception on the launching of Saudi Arabia’s Labor Reform Initiative (LRI) which is a significant step towards addressing issues with the existing sponsorship system in Saudi Arabia.

In response, HRC Chairman Dr. Al Awwad commends the Philippines’ contribution in the Kingdom’s development. He also vows to support cases aimed at attaining justice while ensuring that the Kingdom’s rules are followed.

The said meeting is part of the series of activities included in the Philippine delegation’s Official Visit to Saudi Arabia that is anchored on the Duterte administration’s commitment and promise of Kalinga at Malasakit for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) globally.
