President Benigno S. Aquino III presided the meeting on the updates of the Ebola virus in Malacañang.
As of the latest count, the death toll from the Ebola epidemic rise climbed to at least 4,992 out of 10,141 cases recorded from eight countries.
In the Philippines, the Department of Health (DOH) allocated P500 million for the country’s preparedness against Ebola. The budget will be used to help raise awareness on the deadly virus, as well as for the purchase of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for health workers such as breathing tubes, air purifying respirators, and headgears in case of Ebola-infected-patients.
