President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. met with Cargill – an American global food corporation — at The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel in New York, United States of America (USA).

During their meeting, the President said that Cargill is a strong partner of the Philippines, whose operations in the country is its first in Asia. Cargill began doing business in the country in 1946 when its vegetable oil division started buying copra for export to the US.

At present, Cargill Philippines has over 950 employees across the country, with primary offices in Taguig City (headquarters), Bulacan, Batangas, Laguna, General Santos City and several satellite offices in strategic locations.

The Chief Executive expressed his hopes for Cargill and the Philippines to find new areas of cooperation and understanding, based on their assessment on the agricultural situation in the Philippines.

Operating for over 155 years, Cargill provides agricultural products, and farming services and risk management solutions worldwide. To date, it has around 155,000 employees that are serving customers and communities in over 70 countries/regions through safe, responsible and sustainable means.
