President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. presided over a meeting with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) at the State Dining Room in Malacañan Palace.

During the meeting, DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian presented the Department’s accomplishment report, along with key programs and initiatives to be implemented.

Some of the programs discussed include ‘Walang Gutom 2027,’ a Philippine food stamp program aimed at ending hunger; ‘Buong Bansa Handa,’ a whole-of-nation disaster response that utilizes existing private sector supply chain infrastructure through framework agreements with national and regional grocers; creation of the DSWD Academy, which will revive the Social Welfare and Development Center for Asia and the Pacific (SWADCAP) and provide basic social welfare and development certificate programs; and ‘Paspas Serbisyo,’ which aims to digitize the delivery of social welfare assistance, among other initiatives.
