The Philippine Delegation convenes prior to the formal opening of the 56th Session of the Subsidiary Bodies (SB 56) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) at the World Convention Center in Bonn, Germany on June 6, 2022.
Secretary Robert Borje of the Climate Change Commission (CCC) leads the country’s participation to the said event, joined by NEDA Undersecretary Mercedita Sombilla, DOST-PCIEERD Executive Director Enrico Paringit, DOE Director Michael Sinocruz, DA Director Alice Ilaga, DILG Director Anna Bonagua, and DENR Mr. Albert Magalang.
Also known as the Bonn Climate Change Conference, the SB 56 is taking place from June 6 to June 16, 2022 to discuss the preparations for the UN Climate Change Conference (COP27) in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt in November this year.
The Climate Change Commission serves as the Philippines’ National Focal Point to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
