President Rodrigo Roa Duterte administered the mass oath taking of newly sworn Presidential appointees at the Rizal Hall of Malacañan Palace.
During his speech, the President said that it was his pleasure to stand among some of the most dedicated and passionate civil servants in the country. He added that the presence of the newly appointed officials is a testament to the administration’s obligation to champion integrity, accountability and transparency in various government institutions.
“The Philippines has been beset by challenges, but what makes our country incredible is its capacity to overcome these and emerge stronger than before. Let us take advantage of this asset as we engage ourselves in [actualizing our] task to serve our country…. Remember, you are pledging your commitment to the ethical and honorable behavior as government officials. You are committing to do something that is larger than yourselves,” President Duterte said to the newly sworn appointees.
He also reminded them to resist any temptation that will taint their honor and reputation as public servants, as well as pledged his full support and confidence in them towards advancing the nation’s common good.
During the mass oath taking, President Duterte was accompanied by Presidential Adviser for Political Affairs Francis Tolentino.
