The Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 (MMS 3) Project which is a part of the Metro Manila Skyway System was launched today with President Benigno S. Aquino III as the guest of honor.
With the MMS 3 Project, the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) will be connected through the construction of elevated expressways. As President Aquino explained, the road, which has a length of more than 14 kilometers, will link Buendia and Balintawak and will lessen the traffic problems along EDSA and in other major roads around Metro Manila. This, he said, will likewise shorten the travel time from Buendia to Balintawak from two hours to only 15 to 20 minutes.
Moreover, the project will provide 6,000 direct jobs and an additional 10,000 to 12,000 indirect jobs to unemployed Filipinos in the duration of the construction.
The MMS 3 is a project of Citra Central Expressway Corporation (CCEC) in partnership with San Miguel Corporation. CCEC will start mobilizing its advance works along Osmeña Highway in Manila after the project launch.
