Langkawi, Malaysia
26 April 2015
Stretching 5.5 acres, this wildlife park (former Langkawi Bird Paradise) offers an exciting package for tourists and locals who want to experience up close nature’s exotic species collected around the world. Unlike the usual wildlife park where animals are normally caged, this park allows you to get close and personal with the animals, which means you get to go inside the cage and feed them. But not to worry, they only allow close encounter with harmless animals. Strolling around the park where birds of all kind can freely roam and interact with other species, you won’t even realize that you’re actually inside an aviary.
Featured bird species found in the park are tropical birds like macaw, hornbills, peacocks, mandarin ducks, ostrich, cranes and eagles (where Langkawi got its name: ‘Lang’ means eagle and ‘kawi’ stone).
Other animals include alligators, turtles, lizards, porcupines and monkeys, just to name a few.
In 2014, Langkawi Wildlife Park was hailed by TripAdvisor as a Traveller’s Choice winner.
