“Sana ipagpapatuloy natin ito. Hindi lamang ganito. Paramihin natin hangga’t maaari para makita naman natin na merong pagbabago, merong pagganda doon sa ating mga ginagawa at para sa ating mga kababayan,” President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. expressed as more than 500 ‘Kadiwa ng Pangulo’ outlets continue to fulfill its purpose of ensuring that food commodities are made available and accessible to all Filipinos at lower prices across the country.

As these Kadiwa stores opened in Pili, Camarines Sur, the President assured his countrymen of the government’s commitment to provide programs that will cater to the welfare and needs of many Filipinos amidst the effects of global inflation.

He recognized the efforts of farmers, fishermen and small business owners, particularly the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), in providing food commodities and non-food products for consumers. He vowed to prioritize projects that will make them earn more through a direct farm-to-market consumer trade.

“Hindi pa tayo tapos sa ekonomiya ng pandemya, andyan pa rin ang after effects, yung tama sa ekonomiya andyan pa kaya’t patuloy namin ang suporta sa taong bayan, suporta sa ating mga MSMEs, suporta sa lahat ng mga nangangarap at may layuning magbigay ng magandang produkto para sa ating mga kababayan,” the Chief Executive remarked.

The Kadiwa ng Pangulo in Pili, Camarines Sur featured 39 participating sellers from the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and National Food Authority (NFA).

The DOLE also provided wages for participating sellers under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.
