As the Administration continues to expand the highly successful Kadiwa program, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. underscored the importance of strengthened cooperation between the national government and local government units (LGUs) in implementing projects that prioritize the welfare and well-being of Filipinos amidst economic challenges in the country.
“Hindi po namin magagawa ito kung hindi tumulong ang LGU. Kaya ito ‘yong magandang pagsasama at pagkakaisa para makipagtulungan para makapagbigay tayo ng tamang presyo para sa ating mga bilihin,” remarked President Marcos Jr. as he led the opening of the Kadiwa ng Pangulo in the City of Sto. Tomas, Batangas.
The Chief Executive attributed the success of the Kadiwa program, not only to the participating government agencies, but also to the Filipino sellers who continue to serve as drivers of economic growth in the country through the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
“Eto ay pagkakataon para ‘yong mga produkto naman na ginagawa ng lokal ay mabigyan ng merkado para meron silang mapuntahan at ipagbili ang kanilang mga magagandang produkto,” the President said. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to work harder in catering to the needs of small business owners and consumers.
Kadiwa ng Pangulo is a continuation of the successful ‘Kadiwa ng Pasko’ last year, which is geared towards ensuring food commodities are made available to Filipino families and high consumer demand areas. It also aims to provide a venue for local farmers and fishermen to earn more by having a direct farm-to-consumer trade.
