President Rodrigo Roa Duterte presided over the Joint Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) – Philippine National Police (PNP) Command Conference held at the Heroes Hall of Malacañan Palace.

At the beginning of the event, the Commander-in-Chief conferred the Order of Lapu-Lapu with the rank of Kampilan to Police Officer 1 (PO1) Ronald Anicete. According to Executive Order (EO) No. 35, amending EO No. 17 (s. 2017), the said medal is awarded to officials, government personnel, and private individuals “who were seriously wounded or injured or suffered great loss of property as a direct result of their participation in an activity pursuant to a campaign or advocacy of the President”.

In September 2017, PO1 Anicete made headlines as a Caloocan City cop who survived stab wounds after fighting off a man armed with a bladed weapon.

Thereafter, key officials from the AFP and PNP took part in tackling the recent developments and other activities in their respective offices.
