Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for International Economic Relations Laura del Rosario shared a simpler and understandable definition of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation and its significance to ordinary Filipinos. As APEC Philippines National Secretariat head, she disclosed several topics set to be discussed in summit. These are strengthening micro, small and medium enterprises, connectivity and capacity-building.

She also said that the Philippine government has started its preparations in hosting APEC in 2015.
