Undersecretary Manuel Antonio J. Teehankee leads the Department of Foreign Affairs’ (DFA) International Economic Relations office. He discussed the significance of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s participation in the World Economic Forum (WEF) on ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) given the upcoming 50th founding anniversary celebration of the region on August 8, 2017.

He also tackled the WEF on ASEAN theme this year – ‘Youth, Technology and Growth: Securing ASEAN’s Digital and Demographic Dividends’ – and how the region, particularly the Philippines, can maximize the strengths of these dividends to achieve inclusive economic growth.
