On this day, Tawny Lauren Rodriguez Palma was awarded as one of the Outstanding Teachers in Brunei “Special Mention Awards” given by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah. She is the only foreign teacher among the recipients of this recognition that is on its third year. Tawny is currently the Head of the Science Department at Chung Hua Middle School. She narrates how the creativity, adaptability and work ethic of Filipino teachers in Brunei earn the respect and admiration of their employers, colleagues and students.
