Mr. Tan Sri Othman Merican and his Filipina wife, Ms. Puan Sri Sylvia Merican, are one of the Philippine Embassy in Malaysia’s active supporters in helping the less fortunate Filipino children in Sabah gain access to basic literacy programs through the Alternative Learning Centers (ALCs).

The couple shared their personal experiences in the field, their plans to deliver technical education to their beneficiaries, and their aspirations to seek the help of the Philippine government in their endeavors.
