Philippine Consul General Neil Frank Ferrer talks about the current situation of the Filipino community in Vancouver, the different issues that they are facing and how they work hand-in-hand with the Philippine Consulate in the city. He likewise discusses the highlights of President Benigno S. Aquino III’s visit to Vancouver on May 9.

ConGen Ferrer is a career diplomat who has served at the Embassy of the Philippines in Beijing, China, London in the United Kingdom and Ottawa in Canada. He used to serve as Alternate Permanent Representative of the Philippines to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in London and to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Montreal.

He is a graduate of Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of the Philippines and Master of Science in Economics from De La Salle University in Manila. He is a recipient of the Gawad Mabini Award with the Rank of Dakilang Kamanong (Grand Cross), an award given to outstanding Filipino diplomats.
