A PhD student at the University of Potsdam in Germany. She graduated Bachelor of   Science in Geology at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City in November 2006 and finished his Masters degree in the same university in April 2011. Cathy wanted to teach and while looking for Doctorate opportunities, she found out about           the Geosciences Simulation (GEOSIM) being funded by Helmholtz Association of Germany. She applied and passed the screening, and was granted a three-year contract to finish the PhD program.

 As soon as she finishes her studies in Germany, Cathy plans to go back to the Philippines and work there.  For her, it is her way of showing her gratefulness to her kababayans who   paid for her education since she has been studying in a public school since childhood.
