A teacher by profession, Bernadette Jaruda Respicio has helped shape the young minds not just of Bruneians but the children of Filipinos living in Brunei for eighteen years now. Aside from managing the H.Y. Yussof Computer and Tuition School, she is one of the volunteer teachers in the Philippine Embassy’s Filipino Language and Cultural Enrichment Program aimed at enhancing the student’s knowledge and understanding of Filipino culture, arts, history and language. The program also instills values such as good manners and right conduct, courtesy and respect, family values, cooperation and love for country.
