“We are in agreement that the Philippines, as one of the leading business process outsourcing countries in the world, will have to build up our capacity, our skillset and digital workforce to be not only be AI-enabled but cybersecurity aware,” said Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Ivan John Uy, highlighting President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s meeting with technology companies and venture capitalists held in San Francisco, California.

He shared that the meeting aims to identify how the Philippines will become an active player amid emerging technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI).

DICT Secretary Uy joined the President as one of the members of his delegation to the 30th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders’ Meeting (AELM) from November 14 to 17 November 2023.
