Atty. Dato Armeill Mazlan is the second president of the Union of Muslim Filipinos Malaysia (UMFM). Established in 2012, the organization aims to strengthen the ties between the two countries, particularly in the economic front.

One initiative being pursued by UMFM is the growth of the ‘halal’ industry in the Philippines. Together with the Philippine Embassy in Malaysia, an International Halal Expo will be held in Manila on the first quarter of 2016 to showcase the economic potential of the Philippines in the ‘halal’ sector.
