Philippine Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam

Ambassador Meynardo LB. Montealegre is the current Ambassador of the Philippines to the Sultanate of Brunei. He commenced his tour of duty on April 2015 and is the ninth (9th) Philippine envoy to be posted in the country.

The Ambassador has held various positions within the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and has been posted in several countries, prior to serving as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Philippines to the Hellenic Republic with concurrent jurisdiction over the Republic of Cyprus.

Ambassador Montealegre hails from Marinduque and completed his degree in B.S. in Psychology and M.A. in Asian Studies from the University of the Philippines. He also took an Executive Program on Managing Political and Economic Reforms at the Kennedy School of Government in Harvard University, United States of America.
