• Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Philippines to Lao PDR

Philippine Ambassador to Lao People’s Democratic Republic Maria Lumen B. Isleta presented her credentials to Laos President Choummaly Sayasone on 11 January 2012. The ceremony was held at the Lao Presidential Palace.

One of Ambassador Isleta’s objective is to enhance and further deepen bilateral relations between the two countries, noting the 57 years of diplomatic relations that was formally established on 14 January 1955. An impending establishment of Business Councils in both countries led by prominent businessmen is already unfolding and this will facilitate greater engagements in the area of trade and investments.

Under her leadership, Ambassador Isleta ensures that the approximately 550 Filipinos residing in Laos are constantly updated on the country’s developments and reaches out to them by holding monthly meetings and initiating several activities in a year.
