Ambassador Carlos D. Sorreta is the current Ambassador of the Philippines to the Russian Federation. He is also a member of the Asia-Pacific Leaders Network, the Philippine Society for International Law, and the American Society for International Law.

Entering the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in 1990, he held several positions such as the Director-General of the Foreign Service Institute and Assistant Secretary for American Affairs. He was also the Director of the Treaties Division.

Ambassador Sorreta has specialized trainings on international law and diplomacy which includes a United Nations (UN) Fellowship in International Law at the Columbian School and The Hague Academy of International Law External program. For his dedicated service and work in foreign policy, he was bestowed with the Presidential Order of Mabini with the Rank of Dakilang Kasugo.
