PICC and SM Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City

As part of the country’s preparation for the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting this November, President Benigno S. Aquino III inspected the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) and the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, two of the venues for some APEC events.

The President carefully examined the over-all security, function, and aesthetics of the facilities that will house several Heads of State/Government during the country’s hosting of this year’s APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM).

Throughout the inspection, the Chief Executive was accompanied by Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa, Jr., Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Rogelio Singson, National Defense (DND) Secretary Voltaire Gazmin, Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mel Senen Sarmiento, Tourism (DOT) Secretary Ramon Jimenez, Jr., Transportation and Communications (DOTC) Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya, Cabinet Secretary Jose Rene Almendras, Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Herminio Coloma, Jr., Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff General Hernando Iriberri, and Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Ricardo Marquez.
