Lingayen, Pangasinan
02 May 2013

President Benigno S. Aquino III led the inauguration of the first phase of the Lingayen-Binmaley Road in Pangasinan.

In his speech, President Aquino emphasized that the road project constitutes as one of the administration’s thrust in developing national roads for public convenience. Additionally, he also mentioned other road projects being developed in areas surrounding the province such as the Poblacion-Quinaoayanan Farm to Market Road, the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway Project, the Pangasinan-Zambales Road and the Pangasinan-Tarlac Road.

Stretching to 1.65 kilometers, this road aims to cut travel time for commuters bound for the province’s western zone. Its budget amounting to P9.9 million was taken from the Special Road Support Fund, also known as the Motor Vehicle User’s Charge (MVUC).

“Simbolo ang kalsadang ito sa pagtupad natin sa ating panata: Walang maiiwan sa tuwid na daan. Sa pakikipagtulungan ng ating mga Boss na Pangasinense, tiwala akong mapapabilis pa ang pagtupad natin sa ating hangarin, at ‘di hamak mas malayo pa ang ating mararating,” the President said.

Joining the President during the event were Public Works and Highways Secretary Rogelio Singson, Interior and Local Government Secretary Manuel Roxas III and former Senate President Franklin Drilon.
