President Benigno S. Aquino III graced the inauguration of the Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) plant in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
MMPC, one of the country’s leading automotive brands with more than 50 years of automotive manufacturing experience in the Philippines, opened its new manufacturing plant in a 21-hectare facility inside the Greenfield Automotive Park as part of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation’s (MMC) “New Stage 2016” plan which aims to reinforce business in the Philippines as a core market. This is in preparation for MMC’s further business development across countries in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
With the new manufacturing plant, MMPC can produce a maximum of 50,000 units of vehicles annually. Aside from this, MMPC’s continued partnership with the government such as the Kasanayan at Hanapbuhay (KasH) Program ensures that more jobs will be open for Filipinos in the near future.
“Everything you have achieved since then only strengthens my optimism that your next fifty years here will be even more productive and meaningful, not only for your bottom line, but also for your employees, your clients, and the entire Philippine economy,” President Aquino said in his speech.
