President Rodrigo Roa Duterte graced the Davao City Convention of the Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) at the SMX Convention Center in Lanang, Davao City.

The HNP is a regional political party envisioning unity, security, and inclusive growth for the region of Davao and its people.

The party was officially organized and launched in a general assembly held at the Royal Mandaya Hotel in Davao City on February 23, 2018.

In his speech, President Duterte reiterated that the administration remains committed to preserve and defend the country’s democratic values.

“I assure you that this is only the beginning. I look forward to many of the things that we can accomplish together in the years to come. May this chapter in a party’s history or group or whatever inspire us to further continue upholding excellence, accountability and solidarity as we bring genuine transformation to all the Filipinos,” President Duterte emphasized.

The Convention was attended by more than 6,000 participants composed of the HNP members, local government officials, and purok leaders from Davao City.
