President Rodrigo Roa Duterte unveiled the Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (GAC) Motor flagship vehicle, calling the event as “a birth of promising partnership” between the GAC Motor and the Legado Motors Inc., being its exclusive distributor in the country, during the brand launch at the Meralco Avenue in Pasig City.

The President assured the investors of the government’s commitment towards providing a level-playing field for its investors and improving the country’s business climate, citing the recently signed Ease of Doing Business Act that would simplify government services and transactions, and attract more foreign investors in the country.
“We will continue to provide both foreign and local investors like the GAC Motor and Legado Motors with assistance they need so that their ventures may prosper and flourish,” he said.
“Our outlook for the automotive industry in the long term remains bullish as we expect continuing motorization that will be driven by our robust economic growth. Indeed, recent studies estimate that the local motor-vehicle demand could reach one million units in 2028,” President Duterte added.
Likewise, he reminded the local and foreign investors on the government’s staunch campaign to end criminality and corruption in the government.
