President Benigno S. Aquino III led the groundbreaking ceremony of the Mindanao State University’s (MSU) College of Information Technology (CIT) Building in Marawi City.
“Ang gusaling ito ay tagumpay hindi lamang ng MSU, kundi ng buong bayan. Buhat ito ng ating pagbabayanihan at pagkakaisa para isulong ang magandang bukas para sa susunod na henerasyon,” the President said.
President Aquino also announced that the textbook shortage of 2012 had already been completed. He also expressed optimism that government will complete the 66,800 classroom shortage by the end of this year.
Projected at PhP45 million which will be taken out of the PhP2.6 billion 2013 university budget, the CIT building is expected to enhance and deliver a competitive, world-class offering on IT development in southern Mindanao.
The 3-storey college building will house the following: classrooms and computer laboratories, computer training center, teleconferencing and multimedia room, Information Systems Department, Computer Studies Department, Support Services and Training Department, server farm, personnel offices, library for IT books/holdings, and other building amenities.
